Can the UK reach net zero by 2050?
Have you ever wondered what exactly will be required for the UK as a country to reach this now legally binding target?
Have you, with all good intentions, picked up the Climate Change Committee’s (CCC) 450+ page Sixth Carbon Budget, determined to read it, but not got passed the executive summary?
Well, look no further, we’ve done the hard work for you. We’ve mined it for measures & saving figures and bundled them together into a simple-to-play, educational game that gives players a grounding in the extent of the changes that need to be made - across all sectors of society.
So, if you are in the market for a quick, easy and fun training solution that gets the fundamentals of what reaching net zero could mean for the country – without resorting to ‘death by PowerPoint’ – then read on.
Introducing the Great British Net Zero gameshow:
From 20 to 100+ players. Prices start from £250 (ex VAT) for a one-day tournament for up to 100 staff.
The Great British Net Zero Lowdown gameshow is our new online tournament style game, perfect for companies, charities, universities and organisations who want to help their employees understand what the UK reaching a net zero target will entail.
So, how does it work?
We create a tournament game instance specific to the client, with their brand on the back of each card and on the leader board screen. We can set up the game for just individual players, or with teams included too (for larger organisations with over 100 staff).
Contestants test their knowledge of the relative amount of carbon emission savings that can be achieved by taking particular actions - this can be through: electrifying industry, re-forestation, improving the durability of consumer products, changing the way our food is produced need to be made. The game mechanic is simple, they compare one action (with its carbon saving shown) with another action (with its carbon saving hidden) and have to guess which as the higher carbon saving. If they get it right they score a point that goes towards their own leader board position,( and their team's too if they are playing the a team-based version of the game).
At the tournament's end, the top three players/teams are revealed.
Tournaments typically run for 1 day, or a working week. Or the game can be bought on a licence and used by net zero training providers to add fun and interaction to their training sessions.
Prices start at £250 (ex VAT), £300 (inc. VAT) for a 1-day tournament for NFPs, charities, organisations and businesses, all with up to 100 staff.
For companies with more than 100 employees the cost is £350 (ex VAT), £420 (inc. VAT) for a 1-day tournament.
One week tournaments are also available, prices start at £500 (ex VAT) for <100 players.
